week begins

KARACHI: Network-based solutions have gained vital importance in the field of information technology in Pakistan. In order to focus on this area, IBM invited two international networking specialists to conduct a week-long series of seminars on networking trends, directions and IBM leadership position in networking. The seminar covered the current trends in networking and IBM's role as a Network Solution Provider in the low end and Mid-range campus as well as wide-area networking environment.

The specialists visiting are Carlos de Figueirdo, Manager Networking Solutions and Gerrit Net, Network Architect.

Two customer seminars were held in Islamabad and Karachi to impart the relevant information about networking to IBM customers. Opening the seminar, Humayun Bashir, General Business Manager, explained the importance of network-based solutions and touched upon the large projects completed in Pakistan during the past three years. Enver Pasha Advisory IT Specialist also spoke on the IBM Global Network Solutions and IBM plans to extend their services in Pakistan with internet in coming months. The topics that were addressed at the seminars were Networking Projects & Solutions, Networking Trends and Directions, Integration of Networking Solutions, Networking Marketing Strategy.
