DUBAI: Silver exports from the Gulf trading hub of Dubai to India increased to 73.9 tonnes in March, up from 59.3 tonnes the previous month, according to Dubai customs figures.

The recovery came despite higher world silver prices in March.

Dubai is the main gold and silver feeder market into India, one of the world's largest consumers of precious metals.

India imported a total of 706 tonnes of silver from Dubai in 1995, according to Dubai customs data.

Silver re-exports reached 72.6 tonnes in January.-Reuter
