DMI sets up

liaison office

in Islamabad

BAHRAIN: Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Undersecretary, Ministry of Finance & National Economy, State of Bahrain, has announced the establishment of Dar Al-Maal Al-Islami Group's (DMI) South Asia Liaison Office in Islamabad, Pakistan.

This announcement was made on the occasion of the official visit of Pakistan's Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto to Bahrain.

Under the chairmanship of HRH Prince Mohamed Al Faisal Al Saud, the Geneva-based Dar-Al-Maal Al-Islami Group has established itself as one of the leading Islamic financial institutions of the world.

Sheikh Ebrahim who is also on the Board of Supervisors of the DMI, said that the establishment of this Regional Office shows the continued confidence and commitment of the DMI Group to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. DMI has appointed Waqas Mohsin to head the liaison office in Pakistan.

DMI is currently represented in Pakistan through its two on-shore banks i.e. Al Faysal Investment Bank Ltd, and Faysal Bank Ltd. The South Asia Liaison Office will be administered by DMI's Bahrain-based investment banking arm - the Islamic Investment Company of the Gulf (Bahrain) E. C.
