Christopher meets Peres on Lebanon ceasefire quest

JERUSALEM: U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher met Prime Minister Shimon Peres on Tuesday, hoping to forge a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hizbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.

They met in Jerusalem minutes after witnesses said guerillas had fired another round of Katyusha rockets at northern Israel. No one was hurt. In Lebanon overnight, Israeli warplanes attacked what the army said were "terrorist sites" for a 13th straight day.-Reuter
