environment

being created'

LAHORE: Pakistan's untapped resource are its women whose full potential still lies latent, but a women friendly environment is being created in the country which should encourage women to enter varied work fields.

Lt. Gen (Retd.)Mohammad Safder,VC, Punjab University said on Monday while addressing the 27th Convocation and Prize Distribution ceremony of the Home Economics College Gulberg today.

Education is an asset which can refine the minds,supply true principles for life besides empowering with the possibility of economic self-sufficiency, said the Vice Chancellor .

The VC urged the students to fully utilise their academic skills for the benefit of their family and communities.

Earlier he conferred B.Sc and M.Sc degrees for the years 1993 to 1995 to about 500 students of the college and gave medals,shields for distinction and outstanding perfomance in various co-curricular activities. A number of 'Roll of Honour' were given to students who secured first position in MSc,BS'c exams of the said years.A gold medal was given to Aisha Siddiqa for sucessfully representing the country at Bangkok.-APP
