LAHORE: The inquiry tribunal comprising Justice Malik Mohammad Qayyum of the Lahore High Court has issued notice to opposition leader Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, former Punjab governor Mian Mohammad Azhar and 26 members of the Lahore High Court Bar Association in a contempt of court application filed by Wasi Zafar advocate, an MPA of PPP.

Wasi Zafar had filed an application against the leadership of Muslim League for alleged utterances against the judiciary and judges. He had also alleged that the lawyers from the PML (N) side had beaten up the police and not vice versa all this was done on the instigation by Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. So contempt of court proceedings may be initiated against him, Wasi Zafar has prayed.

The learned Judge directed the respondents to file a reply on May 7, the next date of hearing.
