Crash programmes
vital for uplift
of education: CM
KARACHI: "Despite all our sincere efforts to improve the quality of education in the province, we cannot achieve our target unless we introduce a crash programme whereby we can invoke community awareness and ensure its active participation for improving our education system, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Abdullah Shah told a meeting on education reforms with the World Bank Mission in Karachi on Monday morning, says a handout.
The mission, which included Jacob Bregman, Task Manager, and leader the Mission, M M Usmani, Policy Adviser, and other member briefed the Chief Minister about various proposals which the World Bank is considering for reforms in institutional structure of the educational system of the province.
The standard of the education, the Chief Minister said, is deteriorating fast, and the specialists should not only indentify the reasons for this fall in standards, but also come up with practical solutions to this problem. The Chief Minister said that seminars, work-shops and discussion forums should be held through electronic media whereby the gravity of the problem should be told to every member of the society. "There is a need to create an atmosphere of respect for the tutors; parents can play a vital role in this regard", the Chief Minister said.-PR
