LONDON: Bashir Martin, 33 year old BBC journalist of Pakistani origin, was among the top British actors and actresses to share cinema and television honours at a ceremony here Sunday night.

He collected the 'Best talk Show, award for his interview of Princess of Wales for BBC Panorama programme telecast in November last in the 27th British Academy of Films and Television Awards (BAFTA) function.

After receiving the award he said that at 33 he could see "you will never make a programme like this in life." It was daunting. He could not be contacted for comments this morning as according to his office he was on a week's leave.

Howeve, one of his colleagues said Bashir Martin was very pleased. It was one of the major stories of last year which is reflected by his selection for the award.-APP
