Pak-Iran ties have
stood test of
times: Leghari
ISLAMABAD: President Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari has said Sunday that Iran and Pakistan have very close cultural, historical and religious relationship which have stood the test of times.
He was talking to Brig. General Habib Baghayi, Commander in Chief, Iranian air force who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Sunday.
The President said that we should translate our friendship into practical cooperation in the economic, trade and other fields. He said that the public and private sectors of the two countries could have joint ventures in several sectors like gas pipelines and oil refineries, construction of roads and manufacture of heavy plants. He hoped that visit of the Iranian Air Chief shall further improve and up-grade our relationship at different levels and also to achieve self sufficiency in the needs of our two countries.
Mr. Habib Baghayi thanked the President for receiving him and briefing him about the on-going and possible cooperation between the Air Forces of the two countries.
Air Chief Martial Abba Khattak and other concerned senior officials and diplomats of the two countries were also present on the occasion.-APP
