govt support to

dairy farms

SAHIWAL: Provincial Minister for Ushr/Zakat Ch. Mohammad Aslam has disclosed that the government intended to patronise business of privately run dairy farms in the province. This would enable the government earn foreign exchange through export of well bred cattle abroad.

He expressed these views during his visit to Crescent Dairy Farm in Chak 101/9L where he inspected the dairy farm in which cows and buffalows of Canada Australia breeds were being kept.

The directors of the farm Mohammad Aslam and Mohammad Yunas disclosed that Pakistan's cow of Neeli breed and buffalows of Ravi breed were liked abroad by the foreign countries for the reasons that these breeds give more milk as compared to other breeds of the international cattle.

The government should therefore make steps to patronise this business through provision of loans.

The minister ensured to forward his findings to the prime minister for her consideration. Later, the minister hailed the efforts of the farm management for running the dairy farm on modern systems.-PPI
