Leghari for boosting
Pak-Oman trade
ISLAMABAD: President Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari has said on Sunday that there was need to increase the value and volume of trade, investment and economic co-operation for joint ventures between Oman and Pakistan.
He said this while talking to Shaikh Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Qatabi, President of Majles A'Shura, Sultanate of Oman, who called on him at the head of a delegation of members of Omanese Majles A'Shura at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Sunday, said a Press Release.
The President said that Pakistan wants to enhance its cordial relationship with Oman at the level of peoples of the two countries, their representatives and their leaders.
Referring to historical relations between the two countries the the President said that Pakistan was now developing the Gwadar Port alongwith a large industrial zone in which Omanese government and businessmen could play an important role for our mutual benefits.
He said that after the peaceful solution of Kashmir problem, restoration of peace in Afghanistan and development of Gwadar port, Oman and other countries in the region would greatly benefit from tremendous economic activities and mega development projects in this part of the world.
Mr. Wasim Sajjad, Chairman Senate, Mir Abdul Jabbar, Deputy Chairman Senate, Senator Muhammad Hayyat and senior officials of the two countries and parliaments were also present on the occasion.
