16 defaulters

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Telecom Region has intensified its recovery campaign, and 16 defaulters have been arrested so far.

The IT Revenue Magistrate, Tariq Pirzada said that 3 of the defaulters were released after clearance of their dues. He said arrest warrants and summons have been issued against defaulters.

The ITR record shows that there are nearly 10,000 defaulters in the region and action against them is being taken under the Land Revenue Act.

The Recovery Magistrate Tariq Pirzada said the property of the defaulter could be confiscated and auctioned under the Land Revenue Act. And added that defaulters can also be awarded sentence.

He said the recovery campaign is continuing under government's strict directives and the ITR will not show any lethargy in laying heavy hands on defaulters.

The recovery magistrate advised the defaulters to clear their dues and avoid legal action.-PPI
