BEIJING: Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga arrived here Sunday for a week-long official visit to China, Xinhua reported.

The visit, at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin, is her first since becoming president in November 1994, the agency said.

She is accompanied by Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar and other senior government officials, it added.-APP
