LAHROE: The Lahore High Court has asked the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry to file a copy of the resolution through which the Secretary LCCI had been authorised to file suit on behalf of the Chamber.

These orders were passed by the court on a writ petition filed by the LCCI for the cancellation of the registration of the Labour Union of the LCCI.

The counsel for the Union, Tabinda Islam, raised objection about the legality of the suit. She argued that, under the article 36 of the Articles of Association of the LCCI, Secretary of the LCCI was not competent to file a suit on behalf of the LCCI.

The LCCI counsel insisted that a resolution was adopted by the executive body to enable him file the suit. The court directed to produce a copy of the resolution and adjourned the hearing for April 5.
