LAHORE: Battery workshop Moghalpura was inaugurated on Sunday after renovation and refurbishment.

As a result of this project, which is a joint venture of Swede Rail and Pakistan Railways, the capacity of the Battery workshop Moghalpura has been augmented to almost double of its previous capacity.

Bernt Andersson, President Swede-Rail and Muhammad Azhar, Chairman Railway Board inaugurated the shop. Swedish Ambassador in Pakistan Nils G. Rosenberg also graced the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, President Swede-Rail indicated to consider further cooperation and assistance against other projects of Moghalpura workshops as well.

The renovation work of the Battery workshops facilities, including the training component abroad and at site in workshops, was sponsored by Swedish Industrial development Agency "CIDA" through a grant assistance.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Ch. Bashir Ahmed, General Manager, Pakistan Railways and other senior officers of Pakistan Railways.-APP
