KUJ CONDOLES

The Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) has condoled the death of senior journalist and its member Najma Babar and termed her passing away a loss to the entire journalistic community.

In a statement, KUJ President, Shabar Azmi and General Secretary, Sarfaraz Ahmed said Najma Babar was a highly competent and upright journalist who had left behind a glorious tradition of objective journalism to this country.

The KUJ office-bearers said that through her writings, she highlighted the issues of women, the minorities, and under privileged segments of society, particularly of the rural areas.

Though Najma never held any office during her association with the trade union, she had always been one of the most active workers of the KUJ taking part in every small and big demonstration held for the cause of the freedom of the press, the KUJ office-bearers added.

They said the KUJ will always remember her contribution to the cause of freedom of the press.-APP/PPI
