Few changes seen

KARACHI: Changes were few on the Jodia Bazar when it reopened on Saturday after two-day closure.

Business, according to the traders, may become more active from Sunday or Monday. Retailers had done enough purchasing on Tuesday last when market had heard about the strike call.

Few changes were seen in jute goods, Kirana and dry fruits. Other sector had some insignificant change, but traders waited further development.

Jute goods had only one variation in 40x2 Mehran brown, which dropped Re one.

In Kirana, where merchants are upset due to large scale illegal imports, quite a few variations were seen. Paper, which has turned erratic these days, moved down by Rs 500, and pepper from Singapore gave in Rs 75, small cardamom from Tanzania shed Rs 120, big cardamom shed Rs 100, cloves turned lower by Rs 25, sago also eroded same amount, cuminseed lost Rs 50, darchini gained Rs 100 and almond Irani turned higher by the same amount.
