ETOs told to

dispose of

objections

LAHORE: The Director General Excise and Taxation, Punjab, Ch. Saleem Jamil on Saturday directed all the Excise and Taxation Officers (ETOs) of Lahore city to dispose of the objections purely on merit filed by the people against new draft property tax evaluation.

Talking to APP here on Saturday, he said that Excise Director and Taxation, Lahore Division, Sh. Irshad Hussain had also been directed to personally monitor the performance of all ETOs on a weekly basis and submit report to him regularly.

He said that ETOs have also been further directed to ensure the recovery of old property tax arrears from the defaulters before the end of current financial year irrespective of their status and proceed against them strictly within the ambit of law. He said that strict action would be taken against the officials showing negligence in the recovery campaign and failing in redressing the genuine grievances of the tax payers.

He said that tax payers were respectable citizens and all the Directors and ETOs were duty-bound to look into their legitimate grievances and solve them without wastage of time.-APP
