HYDERABAD: The office-bearers of Tajiran-e-Maveshinyan Welfare Association, Hyderabad and Karachi have drawn the attention of the Sindh Chief Minister and the District Administration of various districts of interior Sindh to the flagrant violations of Rawangi Mahsool and Market Committee Tax by the contractors on sacrificial animals.

In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, Baloch Khan Miskeen, Abdur Rasheed Qureshi, Mohammad Yusuf Marri, Abdur Rehman Qureshi said that the contractors were overcharing Rawangi Mahsool and Market Committee Tax by force while the police was extorting between Rs 500 to Rs 1000 on the pretext of "Eid Kharcha".

They said if the cattle traders protested, their trucks loaded with sacrificial animals were detained for hours together.

They appealed to the authorities to take serious notice of these excesses.
