Multan: In the course ofDuring the on-going campaign against the anti-social elements, two mini-cinema owners, one booking clerk and a contractor of a city cinema were arrested from different parts of the city during the last 24 hours.
According to details,the Deputy Commissioner, Multan, Junaid Iqbal Chaudary following a tip that unauthorised mini- cinema houses were exhibiting obscene movies in different parts of the city arranged a raiding party supervised by City Magistrate Ali Akbar Bhatti.
The party raided two mini-cinema houses situated in the jurisdiction of PS Mumtazabad and PS Dehli Gate and arrested Qamar Din and Sultan Mahmood, owners of the mini-cinemas. The raiding party also recovered the machinery and equipment used for the exhibition of obscene movies, beside 13 video cassettes during the raid.
Both have been separately booked under relevant laws.
During a another raid,a booking clerk and a contractor of Hashmat Mahal Cinema were arrested for overcharging and exhibiting unethical posters.
Meanwhile, the city Magistrate who also has been delegated the powers as Special Assistant to the District Council Multan, during routine visit to the District Council Post Qadirpur Rawan,found the Muharar Mulazim Hussain absent from his duty and the employees of the contractor overcharging the District Council taxes.-APP
