BOMBAY: Indian gold and silver fell on Tuesday on demand resistance after opening higher on the back of restricted supplies and a supply shortage, dealers said.
"Profit-taking by stockists also dragged prices downward from high levels seen in early trade," one dealer said.
Last week gold was down by 83 rupees per 10 grammes and silver was down by 158 rupees per kg.
Prices of a gold biscuit (116.50 grammes) opened higher at 60,550 rupees against previous closing of 60,350 rupees but fell to end at 60,325 rupees per piece. Biscuit prices were down by 1,050 rupees per piece during last week.-Reuter
