Bombay sugar
trades in a
narrow range
BOMBAY: Bombay sugar prices traded in a narrow range amidst subdued activity on Tuesday, dealers said.
"Demand from consumers and retailers remained restricted and market sentiment was quiet," said one trader.
Ready sugar S-30 was quoted at 1,285/1,305 rupees per quintal while M-30 remained quiet at 1,310/1,341 rupees. Sugar mill delivery was quiet at 1,215/1,235 rupees per quintal.
"Sugar arrivals also remained limited due to scattered mill offerings," said a dealer.
Indian zinc prices lost groundat improved levels while otherbase matals ruled firm on narrow trade on Tuesday, traders said.
Zinc shed 75 rupees to 6,450 rupees per quintal on demand resistance and light profit-taking. It was up by 75 rupees last week. Lead rose 25 rupees to 4,925 per quintal on a shortage of ready stock and stray physical support.
The metals market was closed on Monday due to a religious holiday. Copper was steady at 15,325 rupees per quintal while ready nickel gained 200 rupeesto 39,800 on restricted supplies.-Reuter
