Leghari stresses
need to upgrade
Pak-Zimbabwe
economic ties
ISLAMABAD: President Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari has said that Zimbabwe and Pakistan have very close and cordial relations and can further upgrade their co-operation at the economic and political levels.
He was talking to the out-going High Commissioner of Zimbabwe Boniface G. Chidyausiku who paid a farewell call on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday, says a press release issued here.
The President said that Zimbabwe and Pakistan can enhance their economic and trade co-operation specially in agricultural, livestock and mineral sectors. He said that he shall be personally leading the Pakistan delegation to the world solar summit to be held in Harare in September this year and was looking forward to meet the President and other leadership of Zimbabwe.
Boniface thanked the President and the government of Pakistan for the assistance and hospitality extended to him and said that friendly relationship between the two countries shall be further strengthened by President Leghari's visit to Zimbabwe.
Senior officials of the Aiwan-e-Sadr and Foreign Office were also present during the meeting.-APP
