HYDERABAD: The twin cities of Hyderabad and Latifabad on Thursday observed complete strike on the call of MQM to protest against the decentralization of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) through Sindh Local Government Ordinance.

All the main markets, shopping centres and Mandis including Tower Market, Grain Market, Sero Ghat, Tilik Incline, Shahi Bazar, Electronics Market, Spare Parts Market, Resham Bazar, New Cloth Market and Risala Road remained closed.

The traffic was thin on the roads. Transport to the interior Sindh was easily available but for Karachi very few buses plied.

Almost all the schools and colleges remained closed while attendance in government offices was also very thin.

The Sindhi dominated areas of Qasimabad, Nasim Nagar and Bhattai Nagar remained open.

No untoward incident was reported from any parts of the twin___ cities.
