BD buys sugar

at $403.5 per tonne

DHAKA: Bangladesh's state-owned Sugar and Food Industries Corporation is buying 12,500 tonnes of white sugar at $403.5 per tonne C&F for shipment by the end of June, corporation officials said on Thursday.

They said Geneva-based Gill & Duffers Ltd won the deal through a tender held on April 13.

The officials said another bidding for 12,500 tonnes of sugar was due on April 20 for shipment within 35 days after opening of the Letter of Credit.-Reuter
