RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: There is a tremendous scope of joint ventures between Poland and Pakistan in various fields of industrial and commercial sectors, and a number of trade delegations from Poland will visit Pakistan this year to explore the joint venture opportunities. This was stated by Janusz Bylinski, Commercial Counsellor of Poland in a meeting with Sh Wahiduddin Sr. Vice President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Agha Jamal Haider, Executive Committee Member of the LCCI and Asif Sharif Honorary Consul of Poland were also present on this occasion.
The Commercial Counsellor of Poland said that Poland had a long history of hard working and economic struggle. The Polish exports, which were to the tune of $ 21 billion last year, were continuously gaining momentum due to the consistant economic policies, he added.
Bylinski said that the privatization process was also going on in Poland and over 50 percent registered companies of Poland belonged to the private sector.
Regarding the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Poland, Bylinski said that an agreement singed between the two countries last year, had paved way for up-swing in this regard.
Earlier, SVP of the LCCI welcomed the Polish Commercial Counsellor and apprised him about the current state of economic relations between Poland and Pakistan. He underlined a number of edges which Pakistan had over the neighbouring countries for attracting foreign investment. He hoped that the Polish investors would also avail the opportunities available in Pakistan in this regard.
