KARACHI: The Anti-Encroachment Cell of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has demolished a hotel illegally constructed on 1200 sq. yds at the Ibne Qasim Garden Project site at Clifton on Tuesday.

Ahmed Masood Khan, Chairman, Anti-Encroachment Cell, KMC, has claimed that the encroachment was removed despite KMC workers strike and shortage of manpower. "There was no support available from the district administration and the local police," said Masood.

He said, the entire action was taken on the instructions of the administrator who wanted the removal of the hotel to initiate development work at the garden site included in the Prime Minister's package for Karachi.
