Four among six

killed in police

encounter

KARACHI: Six persons were killed in different incidents in the city on Wednesday.

Four unidentified persons were killed in an encounter with police in the Saudabad area.

Police sources said that they were dacoits and coming out of a house when a police party spotted them. Seeing the police party the dacoits started firing. Police returned the fire in which four dacoits were killed.

Adhi ambulances shifted the dead bodies to Civil Hospital.

Mehmood, 27, was killed and Zillay Subhani, waiter of a hotel, was injured in a firing near Empress Market at about 8.30 a.m.

due to firing trafffic remain suspended for some time and shops which were opened were closed. Later, thhe shops were re-opened.

Momin Khan was killed by his cousin Haji Akbar following a dispute over a loan of Rs 2000.

Noor Islam, driver of a truck was killed and Javed and Khan Mohammad were injured when the loaded truck turned turtle near Ziauddin Hospital in North Nazimabad.

Arshad, 15, son of Mohammad who was kidnapped from Mominabad on Tuesday was found in a critical condition after being subjected to unnatrual offence. In reaction, angry residents torched a van and started pelting stones at passengers vehicles in the area.
