ISLAMABAD: The 25th Annual governing board Meeting of the Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Technology is being held in Islamabad /Rawalpindi from the 24th - of April 26,1996 at Pearl Continental, Rawalpindi.

This is the first time in the history of the Institute that a country outside of the Asean region is hosting this event, and it is also a singular honour of Pakistan to have been chosen to host the Meeting this year.

The Asian Institute of Technology, located just outside Bangkok in Thailand, is one of Asia's premier engineering Universities and is internationally recognised for the quality of its research, particularly in the fields of structures, geotech and agriculture. AIT is known for its innovative program in energy technology, as well as Engineering problems of relevance to the region, and as such its reputation as a centre of engineering excellence is unrivalled.

This year, the Meeting is expected to be attended by 30 delegates from 15 countries, all eminent engineers and scientists in their own right.

AIT, established in 1959 as the SEATO Graduate School of Engineering, has produced many of Asia's top technical managers and leaders.-APP
