FID considering to
stock low price dap
for next rabi season
LAHORE: The Fertilizer Imports Department (FID) is considering to stock imported Di-Ammino Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer , recently bought by the organisation at comparatively low price, for the next rabi season.
This was stated by Director General, FID, Mohsin Rizvi here on Tuesday.
He said that the price fixed by the government for DAP of Kharif sowing this year i.e. Rs 492 per bag of 50 kilogram was lesser than the price of previous year by Rs. 44.
"We are trying to have similar cut in the price of Urea fertilizer , the most needed agricultural input in Pakistan", said Rizvi.
He said that the consumption of Nitrogenous, Phosphorous and Potash fertilizers in the country had touched the mark of 4 million tonnes this year.
Talking about the newly appointed 30 private sector distributors all over the country, he said that these firms would distribute 100,000 tonnes of DAP during the coming Kharif season, the third part of the DAP fertilizer imported by the FID.-APP
