BOMBAY: The Indian rupee closed at 34.21/23 to a dollar on Monday, nearly unchanged from the opening rate of 34.21/24, dealers said.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bought dollars at 34.22 level during the day, a dealer at a leading bank said.

Most dealers said the forex market was dull on Monday. "The demand (for dollars) was thin and the supply was good," said a dealer. "The dollar moved in a two to three paise range."

The forward premia on the dollar also eased because of easy conditions in the call money market, dealers said.-Reuter
