care-taker govt

in Bangladesh

ISLAMABAD: A spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the formation of a caretaker government in Bangladesh led by Chief Justice (Retd) Muhammad Habibur Rahman, as chief advisor.

He expressed the hope that normalcy would be restored under the non-party caretaker government and that the democratic process would move ahead.

The spokesman alluded to the excellent relations existing between Bangladesh and Pakistan adding that Pakistan was keen to see peace and stability restored in the brotherly state of Bangladesh.

The Spokesman expressed the hope that all the political parties in Bangladesh would extend their assistance to the caretaker government to ensure that elections are held in a peaceful atmosphere.-APP
