Nakai lays

foundation stone

of public school

SIALKOT: The Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Muhammed Arif Nakai on Sunday laid the foundation stone of Sialkot Public School which is the first of its kind in Sialkot District to be completed at the cost of over Rs 211.6 million on Sialkot-Pasrur Road here.

The school will sprawal over an area of 48 acres of land and will have juniors, nursery, secondary and higher secondary classes both for girls and boys and hostels for all classes.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the establishment of this school was in line with the educational policy of the government aimed at reducing the illiteracy rate and to promote higher education. The Chief Minister said education played a vital role in all round development of the country, adding that the provincial government had already undertaken various plans for the promotion of education in the Punjab. Nakai on this occasion announced a special grant of Rs 5 million. He assured that during next fiscal year Rs 10 million would be provided for the proposed Sialkot Public School. On this occasion, the Chief Minister was briefed about the different aspects of Sialkot Public School. The ceremony was also attended by Ch. Akhtar Ali, MNA, Ch. Abdul Sattar, MNA, Provincial Minister for Housing and Fiscal Planning, Ch. Khush Akhtar Subhani, Ch. Armghan Subhani, Divisional Commissioner, Khalid Latif Chaudhry and member of the business community and large number of citizen.-APP
