subsidy on

textile items

FAISALABAD: The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has decided to grant 50 percent freight subsidy on export of various textile items on actual freight paid by the exporters on export consignments airlifted by international airlines or shipped by international shipping companies.

According to a notification of the EPB, the government has also allowed 25 percent freight subsidy on the export of non-quota woollen and silk products.

The exporters will be eligible to use any air or shipping line to claim the freight concessions. The 50 percent subsidy will be allowed on comforters, quilted pillow covers, kitchen sets, quilted waists, quilted bed spreas, sleeping bags, down proof jackets, mattress protectors, quilted shirts, quilted jackets, foam cushions, orthopaedic pillow and bed in a bag etc.

The EPB has also announced procedure for the payment of this subsidy which has come into force with immediate effect.-APP
