LAHORE: Secretary General, Association of National Development Institutions in member countries of Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI), Aydemir Koc on Sunday said that the Islamic nations should not act as the raw material suppliers for the western world.

He said that there should be human resource development activities by the Muslim Ummah so that it could have deal with the western world at equal footing.

He said, in the wake of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) agreement and the introduction of ISO-9000 quality control rules, the life was getting more complex.

"The Development Financing Institutions in Muslim world need more sophistication", Koc said.

He said that the main purpose of the Istanbul-based ADFIMI was to create rapport between DFIs of different countries.

He said, holding of seminars could help bring market managers from various Muslim nations together.-APP
