great importance

to training in

banking: Saroop

LAHORE: The Punjab Governor, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Raja Saroop Khan, has said that the field of banking has acquired acute importance in view of the increasing financial interdependence of nations.

He was talking to a 30-member delegation of the participants of International Commercial Banking Course, which called on him here at the Governor's House on Saturday. The course is being conducted in collaboration with the government under its Technical Assistance Programme.

Welcoming the participants, the Governor said that the government attached great importance to such training programmes for projecting the image of Pakistan amongst the developing countries. The Governor underlined the importance of the course by saying that countries were linked in financial interdependence and each country figured distinctively with a definite role for it. The Governor hoped that the State Bank of Pakistan would have equipped the participants from friendly countries for higher responsibilities in their respective countries.-APP
