LAHORE: The Punjab Minister for Forest Rai Ejaz Ahmed Khan on Saturday directed all forest officials throughout the province to pursue timber theft cases in the courts failing which strict action would be taken against them.

Taking serious note of the non-pursuance of forest officials in the trial courts in their respective jurisdiction, the unscrupulous elements allegedly involved in timber theft cases did not get punishment due to lack of proper evidences on the part of foresters.

Talking to APP he said that he had directed all the concerned officials to attend the court properly and pursue the cases otherwise negligent officials would be taken to task. He said that all the conservators of forests have been directed to submit the reports in this regard to him regularly every month.-APP
