'CBA to lock up
UBL branches in
H'abad if staffers
not released'

HYDERABAD: United Bank Staff Union (CBA) Hyderabad zone which met here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Shabbir Ahmed Khan at its regional headquarter has decided to lock all the UBL branches in Hyderabad region on Sunday (April 14) if the arrested UBL staff members were not released by the district administration.
The meeting also decided to expand the scope of protest movement right from Karachi to Azad Kashmir if the district administration failed to release the arrested UBL workers.
Addressing the meeting the president of the union, Shabbir Ahmed Khan said that police was deliberately trying to destroy industrial peace by arresting the bank manager and other staffers.
He said that the union leaders had already informed the district administration about their protest programme through a news conference and added that if the administration did not release the UBL staffers, all branches of UBL would be locked-up in Hyderabad region on Sunday.
He said that UBL staff had nothing to do with the looting of 41 lockers and some of the arrested officers were also among the affected parties.
He said that police was bent upon destroying the peaceful atmosphere of UBL and warned that the scope of arrest movement would be expand to Azad Kashmir right from Karachi in order to ensure the release of UBL employees.
He said the meeting of Employees Federation of Pakistan was in progress under the chairmanship of MNA and Chairman Labour Task Force, Abdul Aziz Memon which would adopt future line of action.
