Hayat said that in his childhood, one had to go 30 miles away from home to get admission in primary school, but now the AJK government has opened a number of primary and high schools in every nook and corner of the valley.

He said the burden on the public sector schools had been increasing, therefore, the private sector should come forward to help the government in promoting the educational facilities.

Appreciating the skits and other programmes presented by the school children on the occasion, the AJK President said such activities should be promoted to groom the talent and aptitude of the students.

He also announced a donation of Rs 50,000 for the Moon Light School.

The Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Arif Nakai, in his message read out on the occasion, said that the Punjab government has been taking all out measures to promote educational facilities.

Chaudhry Akhtar Ali Vario, MNA, speaking on the occasion, said that the country needed good and sincere political leadership.

Film star Ghulam Mohyuddin also spoke on the occasion.

Later, Sardar Sikandar Hayat distributed prizes among the students who achieved distinctions in various academic and extra curricular activities.
