Ombudsman asks

Ministry of

Religious Affairs

to submit report

RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: The Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) has directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to submit its report on the complaint filed by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Traders and Cottage Industries (FPCTCI), which has been admitted for investigation by the Ombudsman.

The complainant had requested for payment of Rs. 2 million being the loss FPCTCI suffered due to non-payment of dues to 44 Hujjaj, whose applications were delayed and payment of accommodation was made, and action against corrupt officials of agency. The Ombudsman directed the Ministry in exercise of the powers conferred on him under clause (4) of article 10 of the Establishment of the Office of Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) order 1983, (President's order No. 1 of 1983). The Ombudsman has been pleased to directed that "you may be called upon to meet the allegations contained in the complaint including rebuttal."

The directives have been sent to G.M. Riaz, Section Officer, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Islamabad by S. Irshad Hasan, Adviser by order of Wafaqi Mohtasib (Ombudsman) who has been asked to submit his report by May 1, 1996.
