KL tin rises on good demand

KUALA LUMPUR: Tin price rebounded three cents to finish at 15.96 ringgit ($6.34) a kg after a higher London market attracted some buying here, traders said.

"The tin market is likely to move up to the 16 ringgit level," a dealer said. "More buying was seen from Europe, Japan and Malaysia because of the firmness in the copper market."

Final turnover was 149 tonnes against 75 on Thursday, with buying seen from Europe and Malaysia.

The local premium to London dropped to $70 a tonne from $95 on Thursday.-Reuter
