India copper up, other metals steady
BOMBAY: Copper prices recorded fresh gains on Friday while other base metals moved narrowly in a dull market, dealers said.
Copper rose 50 rupees to 15,500 a quintal on thin supplies.
"Expectations that the state-owned Hindustan Copper might hike its selling prices for the second half of April pushed prices higher," a dealer said.
Zinc was steady at 6,550 rupees per quintal and lead stayed firm at 5,000 rupees. Aluminium was at 7,600 rupees per quintal in limited trade. Tin and nickel were firm at 35,500 rupees per quintal and 40,000 rupees.-Reuter
