Punjab spends only Rs 9.5m

out of Rs 25m

LAHORE: Punjab had utilised only Rs. 9.5 million against the allocation of Rs. 25 million for culture and tourism projects during the last financial year.

According to figures available from official sources, out of this amount, Rs. 5 million were assigned as a block allocation to tourism for its development schemes.

The project "Information and Cultural Complex, Rawalpindi Phase-I" was implemented with a slow pace of work and consumed only Rs. one million against the allocation of Rs. 5.9 million during the period under report.

The Multan Arts Council Phase-II was almost complete and Rs. 6.0 million were incurred on the Faisalabad Arts Council.

Another amount of Rs. 6.0 million was spent on the project "Development of Lahore Museum" while the project "Establishment of Kasur Museum" also consumed Rs. 0.8 million and made some progress.
