ISLAMABAD: A 4-member delegation led by Josef Mayer, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs of Republic of Austria held talks with Secretary Industries and Production Aftab Ahmad Khan, on bilateral industrial and engineering cooperation between the two countries.

Aftab Ahmad Khan briefed the delegation about the different on-going new projects and other units of the ministry.

He said that under the free economic policies launched by the present Government, there were bright chances of joint ventures and public-private partnership for the manufacture of light and heavy engineering goods, enhancement of existing capabilities of cement, sugar plants and hydel power station projects.

The delegation expressed their keen interest for joint ventures in different industrial fields.

The meeting also discussed the areas of identification in various sectors for mutual cooperation and technical assistance so that technical expertise may be invited for the feasibility of studies.

Chairman, SEC, Dr. Akram Sheikh, Joint Secretary, Zaheer Ahmad and senior officials of the ministry were also present during the meeting.-APP
