KARACHI: The Drug Enforcement Cell Staff posted at the International Departure, Jinnah Terminal Complex, Quaid-e- Azam International Airport, seized 2,350 grams of heroin from two foreigners booked on international flights.

According to Customs sources a Benin's Republic national was arrested while leaving for Addis Ababa by KLM flight KL-150. On search of his luggage the Customs Staff recovered 1050 grams of brown heroin powder from the false bottom of his suitcase and hand bag.

In the second case a Portugese National was arrested before he could board a PIA flight PK-707 destined for Athens. Customs hounds recovered 1300 grams of white heroin powder from the false bottom of his Sabina suitcase.

The accused was an Indian-born Portugese national and was previously also arrested by the staff of Drug Enforcement Cell in 1993. He was awarded 3-year RI and was released from jail in February this year.-APP
