Improved turnover on paper mart

LAHORE: A sharp buying trend with steady price level and improved turnover was observed on paper market in the Punjab capital on Wednesday.

Paper merchants at Ganpat Road traded both in imported and locally produced paper. However, they said that imported paper relatively saw more transactions than the local stuff.

A Ganpat Road trader dealing in imported paper was of the view that the sharp buying trend in particularly imported brands was due to the fire which broke out at the shed "E" of the Lahore Dry Port on Monday evening in which the consignments of imported paper were feared to have also been gutted alongwith other merchandise.

Publishers placed increased orders of imported stuff to meet their needs.
