to invest in Thar

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Abdullah Shah has said the Sindh Government will welcome the South African entrepreneurs to make investment in exploration of coal in Thar where World's biggest coal reserves have been found.

Talking to the South African High Commissioner, Ismail Coovadia, who called on him at his Sindh Assembly chamber on Wednesday, the Chief Minister observed that South African's mining expertise can be beneficial to both countries and his government would be looking forward to the response from South African coal mining companies for investment in this economically viable project.

The Chief Minister said that apart from coal exploration and establishment of coal-based energy projects, the region has vast potential in the development of coastal region as tourist resorts as well as for palm oil production.

The South African High Commissioner expressed his keen interest in developing mutual confidence between the peoples of two countries through frequent exchange of visits and inter-actions and identifying various areas where the two countries can mutually benefit from each other's experiences and expertise.

ATTENDS SOYEM

Meanwhile, Abdullah Shah, has said that blood given in the fight against terrorism will never go waste and the Government will not rest until terrorism is eliminated.

He was talking to PPP workers after 'Dua' held on the occasion of Soyem of PPP worker Ahmed Hussain.

Being a Muslim, the Chief Minister said, it is our faith that a martyr never dies. The life in this world is too short and real and eternal life starts after death.

The Chief Minister said the identity of PPP is that we all live like a family and share each other's sorrows and joys to promote the feelings of affinity and brotherhood.

"We consider politics and terrorism two separate entities and we will continue to pursue a clean politics", the Chief Minister said adding that terrorism will soon reach its ultimate end.

The soyem was held at the People's Secretariat and attended by a large number of party workers besides PPP's Secretary General Rashid Rabbani and other provincial and district leaders.-APP
