Freedom movement
in held-Kashmir can't
be crushed: Leghari
ISLAMABAD: President Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari has said that Kashmiris freedom movement cannot be crushed nor their right of self-determination as per UN resolutions can be denied.
According to a message received here, President Farooq Leghari while talking to President, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sikandar Hayat Khan, said that Pakistan strongly condemns atrocities against Kashmiris.
He said that Pakistan was simultaneously trying to inform the civilised world about the atrocities on Kashmiris, in an effective manner.
He said, it was the moral duty of people of AJK and Pakistan to continue extending moral, diplomatic and political sup port to the people of held Kashmir.
Leghari said that India can never succed by terrorising Kashmiris, killing their leaders and staging the drama of elections.
Leghari maintained that Kashmiris were not struggling for so- called elections but for right of self-determination and that was their birth right as promised by United Nations.
Leghari strongly condemned the attempts on the lives of the Kashmiri leaders as well as setting ablaze of their properties.
AJK President , Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan thanked President and Prime Minister of Pakistan for fully supporting the Kashmir cause.
He briefed Leghari about the next presidential and general elections in AJK and the legal and constitutional situation.
Leghari said that full support would be extended in holding free and fair elections in AJK so that it could be proved to world that Kashmiris of AJK were enjoying full freedom as compared with that of held-Kashmir where they were subjected to cruelties of Indian forces.
President of AJK termed his meeting with President Farooq Ahmed Leghari as very cordial.-APP
