British police
catch their own
chief speeding
LONDON: British police caught their own chief speeding at 90 miles an hour (144 kph) along a motorway and issued him with a penalty ticket.
Ben Gunn, chief constable of Cambridge in eastern England, was exceeding the speed limit by 20 miles an hour (32 kph) when stopped.
"I naturally very much regret that a lapse of concentration resulted in me exceeding the speed limit. I was correctly reported for the offence," he said in a statement released to reporters on Wednesday.-Reuter
