3,000 Sikh yatrees

ISLAMABAD: About 3,000 Sikh yatrees (pilgrims) from India would arrive here on Thursday, April 11, '96 to attend Basakhi.

They would stay here from April 11 to April 20 in connection with the celebrations of Basakhi and to pay visit at their holy places.

Basakhi celebrations would be continued for 3 days' commenced from April 12 to 14 at Panja Sahib (Hasan Abdal).

The Yatrees will also visit their shrines at Nankana Sahib and Dera Sahib at Lahore. They would return to India on April 20.

An international conference will be held at Jinnah Hall (Hasan Abdal) on Thursday, April 11, '96 in memory of Baba Guru Nanak. The conference is being organized under the auspices of Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan.

The Federal Minister for Population Welfare programme, J. Salik will be the Chief Guest while Minister of State for Frontier Region, Malik Abdul Qayyum Khan will chair the Conference.

With special reference to Baba Guru Nanak, eminent scholars from all over the world will read papers on "Sufism." The topic for the said conference is "the philosophy, humanism and fraternity of Baba Guru Nanak."-APP
